the good ol’ days.

Lumsden’s Dam. My ol’ childhood summer swimmin’ hole.

Haha, it’s not a hole (or is it?) but it is where I have been going since I was just a wee one. There are beach-y-er spots (sandy-like) near where I live but Lumsden’s is the A-1 spot to swim, in my opinion! Less people (normally), a lot more room, and it is beautifully located in the stunning Gaspereau Valley (check out their Facebook Page and you will see what I mean). So, not only do you get to cool off in the nice slightly too cold but not that cold water on a hot summer’s day, but the drive alone is worth taking to get a peak at the amazing view.

Depending on which way you go, you may even pass people jumping from a bridge into the river or see tons of people walking with tubes (which I have still never done) to go tubing!

I got a little off topic, but the Gaspereau Valley is a MUST see when in the Annapolis Valley. If you don’t like swimming, perhaps you might like drinking? There are a couple of vineyards in the area – another thing I have yet to experience myself – that I have heard wonderful things about!

Okay, that is enough chit-chat. Sorry to chat your eyes off (since you are reading and not listening). Let me know if you have been to this area of Nova Scotia!
